After over a decade of trying to get compassion for the sick, Florida voters overwhelmingly approved Medical Marijuana with an almost three-fourths majority.
As of 10pm est, with 99.1% of the precincts reporting, Amendment 2 passes with 71.25% of the vote. This is a 13 % increase over the final results in 2014, when Amendment 2 only received 58% of the vote after being proposed for the first time.
The state now has nine months, starting January 1, 2017, to come up with rules for the medical marijuana program, which includes regulations for dispensaries and edible manufacturers.
(editor’s note) Congratulations to all the supporters who made this possible!!
